More Posts added - More to come!

As a bit of a work in progress - just an update.  I got quite a few more posts added today.  I will continue to add more!  Check back soon!!!!

Advent Pocket Calendar

Advent Pocket Calendar

The link below has a wonderful tutorial. There really is nothing more I can add to it except if you would like to use the numbers that I used, you can find them HERE. And if you would like to use the cards I made, you can download them HERE.

This is how I use the numbers from that download...

After printing the numbers out, I punched them out using my one inch punch. I use the black circles as a guideline and cut right up to the edge of it.

As you can see in this next picture, the punch then centers nicely to punch out your numbers.

My inspiration for this calendar was taken from HERE
The tutorial is also found at this link.

Anthony's Amazing Advent Adventure!

I took a trip this year with my Grandson, Anthony to Disneyland. I thought how fun it would be to have him remember a little bit of the trip during December as somewhat of an Advent Activity. I also thought he needed a KISS from Grandma every single morning in December.

So - this is what I created...

What you see here is a bowl full of what are called 'sour cream containers' that I made out of photos from our trip. Inside each one of them is a KISS (Hershey style) and a little note of what the picture is of.

I also made a quick little journal with the same pictures included. I did this ALA-SIMPLE as if I did it any other way it would simply not get done. I printed out some lines on red paper, wrote in my handwriting the memories and stuck them all together in page protectors with rings covered in Christmas ribbon.

(OK - so I'm NOT the family photographer - that is the role of my niece Kimberly Jarman. You can find her amazing photography HERE!)

Split Coast Stampers has a GREAT Tutorial for how to make the Sour Cream Containers HERE

Because I used photographs, mine was a little bit different. Instead of using the paper with the dimensions they mention, I just use 4 X 6 photos. I find that double sticky tape works just fine holding everything together. You do NOT have to use the crimper - but it sure does give it that awesome final touch. Don't avoid this project if you do not have a crimper. It's just to adorable to miss!!

Here are some more pictures of my process using the photos....

Anthony and his mommy - my beautiful daughter-in-law Jennifer.

Anthony - In one of my favorite photo spots in Disneyland.
A little tucked away stair case in New Orleans Square!Crimping the first side. (After using tape to hold it together.)
Crimping the second side - don't forget to put the treat in!!!
I used my Mickey Mouse punch and the numbers I created HERE to make the tags for each container.

After printing the numbers out, I punched them out using my one inch punch. I use the black circles as a guideline and cut right up to the edge of it.

As you can see in this next picture, the punch then centers nicely to punch out your numbers.

I then glued the numbers to the Mickey Mouse punch. Of course, you could come us with a lot of fun and different ways to do this.

Mini Muffin Tin Advent Calendar

Go figure - I didn't even get a picture of this before it was given away! Silly me!

My inspiration came from this photo.

I purchased the MINI muffin tin at Walmart for under $5.00. I then used my 2 5/16 Scalloped punch to punch the Christmas Paper Shapes.

I punched the numbers using the same template that I created for the RACK project. You can find a link to download that HERE (you will only need to use the numbers 1-24 from this sheet)

I then glued the numbers to the Christmas paper.

On the back of them I used magnets that I just cut from a roll of adhesive magnets. You can find this in the Walmart craft area. Here are pictures...they tell the story much better! :)

However, there are lots of links full of inspiration on the internet. Here are a few. You can also do a Google search for Muffin Tin Advent and find a lot of stuff that way too!!

Crimped Envelope Gift/Card Holder

Crimped Envelope Gift/Card Holder

OK, my version of this is on the super quick and easy side. Some stickers, a quick TO: and a Merry Christmas, some ink smooshed over the top of it - and WALLA! I'm done.

Now...let me share some links where folks put a bit more time and effort into their projects. And it shows! This is one of those tricks for gift wrapping that can come in so handy. As you can see, it can be SUPER easy - or more elaborate. It can be used to hold a small gift, or a card.

The neat thing is that these can be made with any size or shape envelope.

Splitcoast Stampers shares a nice tutorial on this idea HERE.

Make Homemade Gifts has an adorable Reindeer tutorial HERE.

OK - I found one more tutorial that is awesome! Song of My Heart Stampers has neat ideas HERE.

Simple Bag with Candy Cane Wrap

I just LOVED this when I saw it!!!

But I didn't have any of those awesome bags. :( However, I DID have these really cute Penguin bags from Dollar Tree :) So...here is what I came up with from the above inspiration.

Paper Snowflake

Paper Snowflake

I wasn't really sure it I wanted to take on making this paper snowflake...but I LOVED it! And I'm glad I did! It really was not all that difficult. Looks harder than it was.

I thought this would make the most striking embellishment on a large package. Not to mention an awesome home decoration strung through the house!

I also created some music paper that you can download HERE for this project. I printed it out on the beige paper, but it could be printed on any color. I printed it front and back.

There are quite a few different tutorials out there on this. I found that I liked the one from Weaver Girl Guz. You can find it HERE. If this tutorial is not working well for you, a google IMAGE search for paper snowflake will pull up other tutorials. It's just easiest to use the image search so that you can actually see this type of paper snowflake.

Here are two other tutorials. The Lovely Residence has one HERE
My Very Educated Mother has one HERE.

Paper Boxes

Paper Boxes

These boxes are the same...only different.

The only difference is the size of the boxes.

The red and white checkered one is made from a 12 X 12 sheet of scrapbook paper. The other is tiny and is made from a Christmas greeting card.

This is one of those things that comes in SO HANDY to know! I even use these boxes to organize my bathroom drawer without the tops on them. They make great little dividers.

I really like this video tutorial on this from ScrapperTown.com. You can find it HERE

Gift Bags Made From Envelopes

Gift bag made from an envelope!

This is an "oldie but goodie" idea and one of my favorites. Talk about quick and easy!! WOW!

How About Orange has a great tutorial on these HERE. Disclaimer! It is not my fault if you venture over to How About Orange and never get out. :) As a matter of fact, that disclaimer holds true for just about any link I put up here.

Paper Bows

Paper Bows

At our event, part of the I's A Wrap door prize was some paper bows that I made from 2 sided gift wrap so that they matched perfectly. I get the gift wrap at Costco and I LOVE IT! It is two sided, sturdy, and has so many uses.

My Scrappy Life has a wonderful tutorial HERE on how to make them.

Paper Tube Gift Embellishment/Ornament/Flower

Paper Tube Ornament/Gift Embellishment/Flower

This is SO easy - and so it's fun and quick too! I just cut the tube in about 1/2 inch sections. I cut the first one the size I wanted it, and then used it to mark down the tube in segments using a pencil so that they would all be the same width.

Then I just glued them together. WAY easy.

The Girl on The Go has a tutorial on her blog. You can find it HERE. She stapled hers - I just used glue.

I love how they used the ornament on this gift package!

There are many elaborate things that can be done with paper tubes. Lots of people are making amazing art by spray painting them.
Modern Mom's has a bunch of neat ideas HERE.

Plastic Bag Pom Pom Embellishment

Plastic Grocery Bag Pom Pom

When I was a kid, I thought one of the coolest things ever was to turn a Kleenex into a carnation. Now a-days, we call them "pom poms". Of course I could not resist this idea when I had a pantry full of what it would take to create pom poms and they were FREE!!!

Here are some links to a couple tutorials on how to make them.

Aunt Peaches has the tutorial I used to learn how to make them. Click HERE to see her tutorial.

Creature Comforts has a tutorial also with a little bit of a different technique. You can find that HERE.

And while we are talking pom poms and free stuff...Matsutake has figured out how to make pom pom lights. You can find them HERE.
